About Us
Friends of Beaver Creek Park foster recreation and preservation of the park for generations to come.
The Goal
Our Mission
Established in 2011, the FBCP has supplemented Park projects financially when it is possible. The FOBCP has partnered with the Hill County Parks Department on many smaller projects such as Camp Kiwanis cabin remodels, Beaver Lodge kitchen equipment acquisitions, memorial benches, outhouse upgrades, kiosk installations, self-payboxes, fire rings, trail developments and brochures, road improvements, and even smaller equipment needs for maintenance of the park when the need is warranted.
The Outlook
Our Vision
The FOBCP is funded solely by generous donations of those who want to make a difference. Fundraisers have been held, as well. Currently, the Friends are focusing their efforts on supplementing costs involved with replacing the Beaver Lodge at Camp Kiwanis.
We aim to create a modern facility that serves as a beacon for diverse community gatherings, providing a welcoming space for events throughout the year.
Our Story
The History of the Lodge
Beaver Creek Lodge, originally constructed in the 1970s, has long been a pivotal gathering place for various events. Over the years, it has hosted countless memorable moments and fostered community connections. However, with the passage of time, safety concerns and issues related to accessibility have become increasingly apparent, prompting the need for a comprehensive replacement.
The Hill County Park department, which has been responsible for managing the park since 1947, places paramount importance on ensuring safe access for all visitors. This commitment has been particularly underscored by the significant damage caused by floods in 2010 – 2013, which highlighted the urgent need for improved infrastructure and safety measures. With a focus on resilience and sustainability, the new facility will be designed to withstand environmental challenges while providing a location for community members to gather. Ultimately, this project represents a vital step toward revitalizing Beaver Creek Park and preserving its role as a cherished community resource.
By investing in a new facility that prioritizes safety, accessibility, and modern amenities, the Hill County Park department aims to enrich the experiences of all who visit and ensure that Beaver Creek Lodge continues to thrive as a central hub for social, educational, and recreational activities for years to come.
