Fostering Recreation & Preservation of the Park for Generations to Come

Our Story

Founded in 2011

The Friends of Beaver Creek Park is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving Beaver Creek Park while promoting outdoor recreation. In partnership with the Hill County Parks Department, FOBCP supports park improvements such as cabin remodels, trail development, memorial benches, and ongoing maintenance.

Funded entirely by donations and community fundraisers, the Friends are currently focused on helping supplement the cost of replacing the Beaver Lodge at Camp Kiwanis.

The Goal

Preserve the Park

by supporting maintenance, restoration, and long‑term care of its natural and built resources.

Promote Outdoor Recreation

by enhancing park facilities, trails, and spaces that encourage people of all ages to enjoy the outdoors.

Invest in the Future

by partnering with the Hill County Parks Department and the community to ensure the park remains welcoming for generations to come.

The Outlook

The FOBCP is funded solely by generous donations of those who want to make a difference. Fundraisers have been held, as well. Currently, the Friends are focusing their efforts on supplementing costs involved with replacing the Beaver Lodge at Camp Kiwanis.

We aim to create a modern facility that serves as a beacon for diverse community gatherings, providing a welcoming space for events throughout the year.

THE TIMELINE

Our Current Projects

Meeting Our Goal & Deconstruction

Camp Kiwanis is a beloved gathering space made up of cabins, a lodge, and shared outdoor areas that serve up to 150 guests. Plans are underway for a new facility, with architectural designs expected in 2026. Fundraising efforts have been met for phase 1 of this project, and the current structure was demolished on March 10th. Thank you to Patrick Construction for getting it done so efficiently.

Breaking Ground & Construction

After deconstruction, Camp Kiwanis will be reimagined as a larger, more accessible space designed for comfort, connection, and year‑round use. Plans include modern cabins, improved gathering spaces, expanded outdoor areas, and thoughtful accessibility upgrades. With increased capacity and extended seasonal availability, the new lodge will set a new standard for experiences at Beaver Creek Park.

Maintaining & Gathering

When the project is complete, long‑term care of the new facility will be a shared effort between county leadership and the Friends of Beaver Creek Park—ensuring it remains well cared for in the years ahead. Designed to bring people together, the new Camp Kiwanis will be a welcoming destination for events of all kinds—celebrations, community gatherings, and retreats throughout the year.

"Love following all the changes in the Park. Our family enjoys spending time out here and have been gathering together at Camp Kiwanis for over a decade! Thankful to have such a beautiful getaway so close to Havre."
